Terry Stanley and Terry Moyemont feature plants that are hardy drought-tolerant species from Mediterranean climates around the world and a selection of hardy tropicals, all deer-proof. Mesogeo is dedicated to the propagation of water-wise Mediterranean and hardy tropical plants suited to the Pacific Northwest climate. We give consistent attention to the more than 300 varieties that we grow, from the selection of seed stock to the use of organic fertilizers and soil amendments to optimum temperatures and light - all to assure the health, size, and hardiness of our stock. Every year we extend our plant selections, testing them in our own display gardens to determine the conditions most favorable to each variety.

Bob and Beth Zimmerman
From their website: Our Mission: to produce and provide quality species rhododendron plants; to show how species rhododendrons can enhance gardens; to educate gardeners about species rhododendrons to help our customers and visitors enjoy the beauty that gardens and rhododendrons bring to life; to help preserve endangered species for future generations.
Robert (Bob) Zimmermann fell in love with rhododendrons over thirty years ago. He began cultivating them on his kitchen stove and now grows species rhododendrons in his greenhouse on the Olympic Peninsula. Although hybrids offer fascinating and beautiful plants, the rhododendron species are Bob's primary interest. Some 300 species populate the collection in his garden, providing a reliable source of seed and cuttings. He has paid particular attention to collecting plants true to the species description. A "species" rhododendron is a non-hybridized plant, which en masse forms a stable population in the wild without human intervention.
